Bake, assemble and decorate an organic, vegan and gluten-free layered custom cake. You’ll learn how to mix, bake, assemble and decorate your cake with seasonal goodies.
What you’ll learn in this class:
During this class, Emily of Lael Cakes will demonstrate the basics of making a layered vegan and gluten-free cake. Using a variety of alternative ingredients and recipes from her cookbook Pure Artistry, Emily will cover methods of substituting refined sugars, saturated fats and dairy.
This session will also showcase a unique blend of non-gluten flours for the perfect replacement to traditional pastry flour. Emily will show students not only how to mix and bake a delectable vegan and gluten-free seasonal cake but will also demonstrate how to whip up the perfect icing to fill and decorate your cake.
After each student learns how to mix and bake their own cake, Emily will teach you how to fill it with icing and creatively arrange seasonal ingredients to make a beautifully decadent cake for the holidays.
We will provide each class with all of the necessary kitchen tools and ingredients—all you need is a pen and paper. Bring your cookbook if you have it, or purchase one once you arrive! You get to take home all desserts made in class. Enjoy complimentary sparkling drinks and desserts. BYOB.
